I am a 41-year-old woman diagnosed as a Fragile X premutation carrier with one normal X chromosome and one X chromosome with 63 CGG repeats. I am experiencing Fragile X-associated primary ovarian insufficiency (FXPOI. Basically, I have asshat ovaries that aren’t functioning at full capacity.). Additionally, I have been diagnosed with inherited thrombophilia. I have heterozygous MTHFR C667T and Prothrombin G20210A gene mutations.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive our first child together since April 2012. We have been through many rounds of charting, timed intercourse, and IUI with various drugs (Clomid, Femara, Gonal-F, Follistim, and Ganirelix), and a few rounds of donor egg IVF, all to no avail. We have been through six miscarriages along the way.

We were unable to move forward with IVF in the American system because the costs are just too steep. This blog is about how we have been able to move past that, and still find a way to do donor egg IVF. I’m including information I’ve learned along the way that can hopefully help someone down the road.

    • You are definitely not alone! There is a pretty large international community of women who have gone – or are thinking of going – to Reprofit (or another clinic like it). Let me know if you would like to plug in to it on Facebook. x

    • Hi SF!

How wonderful, I’m wishing you all the best!!!

It hasn’t yet; I miscarried due to the subchorionic hemorrhage. My clotting/immune issues add a whole other level of problems for carrying, however, that many women shouldn’t need to worry about. Although, a good friend of mine, whom I have written about here previously, has a gorgeous baby girl from her first trip to Reprofit. She’s all smiles!!!

I’ll put together a list of quick tips and post them later today; working on some coffee at the moment. ā˜•ļøšŸ’žšŸ˜›
